4 Suddenly the thread winder for the bobbin does not work on an old Morse Apollo 6500 given to us by my mother. On removing the cover, we found a gooey black mass on underside of the bobbin winder. Was there perhaps a belt attached to this and belt has dissolved over the years? If so, where do we find replacement belts? VR Apollo Mission quandary

0 Hello, mine went to squishy rubber this summer also. I went to wally world and bought a new piece. I think it came with a machine belt and the rubber bobin winder . Works fine. While you are replacing this, go ahead and oil all moving parts.Part was cheaper at Wal .... than at sewing machine stores. Laurie
