0 I have the same propane fireplace and the original manual. If you have a pilot going and the burner is not lighting it is likely you have a bad thermopile.  If you get neither then your problem is far worse. The thermopile can be tested with a multimeter. There is online help for that.
It is also possible that the thermopile just needs to be cleaned up or the pilot needs to be adjusted.  These are all things you can do yourself- including replacing the thermopile before you call in a pro.
