Tube clogged towards the bottom, can't figure out how to remove the tube / mane trunk to unclog

0 let me know if you ever figure it out. Don't you love how they show the diagrams with people "lifting out the tube" with two fingers? I put a foot on the powerhead and pulled - doesn't move. And there's no "metal buttons" like they mention in some.
