5 Oreck considers this unit "disposable"! I had the same problem after less than 50 uses on a small kitchen floor and unit looks brand new. When I contacted customer support they replied this particular units battery cannot be replaced and that's why it is considered a disposable electric broom. I have written the company again about their shoddy merchandising.
