Which side of filter for M1B Nordyne filter faces ...

Which side of filter for M1B Nordyne filter faces the furnace and which goes against the door? One side is flat with cells and the other is fibers.

1 Unfortunately the manual only states cleaning and reinstalling. There is no mention of which side. I'm pretty sure it's the original filter with the furnace, 2006, and the previous owner didn't clean it. It was incredibly filthy and bits of fiber came off.
