5 This unit includes a low battery warning utilizing a brief alarm chirp every 30 to 40 seconds for a minimum of seven days. If there is a smoke incident this unit includes a piezoelectric horn that is rated at 85 dB at 10 feet. In a smoke incident, the horn will sound in a repetitive manner, three beeps, a pause, three beeps, a pause This unit includes a hush feature that silences the unit. By pressing the hush button, it will desensitize the unit for approximately seven minutes if a nuisance condition occurs. The alarm will chirp every 30 to 40 seconds during this time and will automatically reset after approximately seven minutes and sound the alarm if particles of combustion are still present. The hush feature shall be overridden and the alarm will sound if the smoke is to dense. These are the only sounds that this alarm makes I highly suggest that you check the battery or call the manufacturer. This alarm comes look a 10 year warranty so if you haven't had it that long it's probably still under warranty and it may be able to replace it for you. The Kidde company can be reached at 1-800-880-6788 or at www.kidde.com. I hope this was helpful and I look forward to a reward! Thank you.
