Question About Martin Fireplaces Indoor Fireplace AU40AL/U4OAT/UF40AT, S/N9
blower not working, have not hooked the gas up yet...

blower not working, have not hooked the gas up yet. does it work off a thermostat and will not turn on unless at an elevated temp. Or is it broke? I plugged in the unit but nothing.

0 The fan is usually controlled through a thermostatic disc that is attached to the underside of the firebox. Once the proper temp (appr. 90F) is reached the fan should switch on. You can test the disc (if it is removable) by applying heat from a small torch or other heat source. Replacement fans with complete wiring, t-stats, and speed controls can be found online.
