I just lit the pilot light to my Majestic 36BDVR g...

I just lit the pilot light to my Majestic 36BDVR gas fireplace but cannot get it to turn on as if it were burning and don't know what to do, the switch is in the on position and it hasn't come on. The pilot light is burning effectively though, what should I do?
