The unit got locked in heat mode and would not shu...

The unit got locked in heat mode and would not shut down. finale when it was shut down it satrted again . I think the letters that were flashing were either LO or OL I changed the batteries and it seems to be working. this is not my unit. It is a friend with a hundred degree house
