Question About Lux Products Thermostat None

I have installed new batteries, read the restart instructions and did the daily and weekend temps, turned the dial to run and al I get is a clanking noise. It comes on when it wants to and runs perfectly for a day or two and then it does it again. it always seems to go off between 9 and 10 at night. ????
