Lightning storm. Now garage door will open but will not close unless we hold down the control. How do we reset?

5 Make sure: 1. Sensors at the corner edges of your garage are clean and free from any obstacles. I found that dust, dirt, etc was causing the issue. 2. Make sure alignment is straight. I found also that if they are crooked by 1 degree, they will cause this issue. Both of these issues will solve door to close automatically without holding down button. I ALSO found out you really dont' need the sensors, but that is a safety issue you'll have to consider (since I have kiddos).
