Why does this product need a vent hose to exhaust outside? I purchased this product as a Christmas present for my sister. She has full-length windows which crank open&closed, not allowing for a window unit. I thought this would solve her heat problems in the summer time. The windows; however, will not allow for the vent/exhaust hose to be installed. Question: will the portable unit run properly without the exhaust hose?
