Lennox G-60 - noisy comb air inducer...

During cold period, with furnace running often, the combustion air inducer makes noise (hard to describe - whistling/whining squeal) - had tech replace as under warranty however noted there was no combustion air inducer orifice plate as per manual - could this be the cause of the excessive noise after long run periods
