I fixed the chirping, I just stomped on the thing..it doesn't chirp anymore. NO JUST KIDDING! I did stop the chirping though. I first enlarged the instructions on the back of the unit since they are in 2 point font. It tells you to use a can of spray air, blow through all the little cracks, holes and crevices. Insert new battery making sure the little arm thingy is pushed down along side the battery (door won't close if it isn't). Plug unit into the ceiling mount plug and it should chirp every 45 seconds and the green light should be ON. Attach to ceiling then push on short tap on the the 'test' button - that stops the chirping and also resets the unit. I think the information on the back of the unit, IS the manual. IF someone finds this is incorrect or it doesn't work for you, I apologize, it did here. I may still install other regular battery operated type smoke detectors nearby just to be safe. Best of luck.

0 That should have read "Attach to ceiling then one short tap on the 'test' button - that stops the chirping and also resets the unit. If your short tap is too long, the unit will sound its alarm. Just start over after pushing the "HUSH" button.
