5 I have the 1275 model and had the same problem. Just unplug unit and remove battery. Vacuum unit to remove any dust particles. Then hold down test button for about 1 minute. This is supposed to clear out the memory. If the battery is still good put back in unit or replace with good one. Make sure when installing battery that the polarity terminals on the battery match those on the battery cover. Putting the battery in wrong will cause it to chirp also. I did this for my unit and it worked. If this does not work you may need to replace unit.

0 I have the model 1275 and also have the chirping nosie coming from two units. I was able to hold the button down on one of the units and now it works. The other unit it did not work on. So, I guess I need a new one.
