Question About Kidde Smoke Alarm 0976

I installed a new battery then tested it, then pushed the "hush" button, which it says on the back it will chirp at 45 sec intervals, when does it stop? What do I do to make it stop?

5 I have this problem, too. Usually if I take the battery out for a while then reinstall, it stops. But it's VERY annoying.
