New smoke detector beeps eventho battery is fresh and new, and arrow pointed up.

5 Had to do some web digging but problem laid in when installing it husband hit the hush button. It will cause the alarm to chirp for 7 mins. He didn't know this so he hit hush again to try and make it stop. That is a bad idea, it will do 7 mins for every time the button is pressed. We removed the battery and started fresh without hitting the hush button.
