how far from the furnace does the carbon monoxide ...

how far from the furnace does the carbon monoxide sensor have to be mounted? I live in a ranch, so does the sensor get mounted towards the ceiling or the floor?

5 Don't put one directly near the furnace it'll go off every day if it is in a closet it can go outside the closet someone near the ceiling since it is lighter than air it rises... I always recommend at least 2 detectors and always one near the bed rooms and one in the vicinity of the furnace but again not directly next to it... And remember to change your batteries!
