Need to Disassemble the Vacuum - How?...

I accidentally vacuumed up a strand of carpet that was on the edge of an area rug. It got stuck in the 'brush' and it won't work anymore. i can't find my manual anywhere and was wondering how to disassemble the head of the vacuum to fix the problem?
