0 first off, look at the manual and oil the machine as directed. If you sew a lot, oil again after 10 hours of sewing, and oil it before you store it. Run it on scrap cloth to remove excess oil. I found this helps prevent jamming. Also you can lengthen your stitches as well so the fabric moves through faster, and dont force the fabric, let the machine take its time to get through the thickness keeping an even timing on the run.
