How old is this...

I just got this from a women that i took care of and she said it was here grandmothers and i just wanted to know how old it was.

0 I asked my sister when our parents got ours and she remembers our dad making dresses for her in 1956 on it. I still have the cabinet with the model number in it. It is a very good machine and would withstand a nuclear blast. I wish I still had my mom's.

0 I just got this same sewing machine cabinet for free, and cant figure out how to open the cabinet door! Anybody know howvto get it open?
