My Kenmore model is 42-54701 it runs and I cleaned...

My Kenmore model is 42-54701 it runs and I cleaned the air filter but there is no water in the pickup tank. There is humidity in the basement based on the new gauge I bought from Home Depot. Why is there no water picking up?
