5 Hello, Few possiblites 1) If the air conditioner does not cool, the compressor might be defective. 2) If the air conditioner does not cool, the compressor might be defective. If the air conditioner compressor runs continuously and won't turn off the condenser coils may be dirty. The condenser is like a radiator and must stay clean in order to dissipate the heat which was removed from the air. As the coils get dirtier the air conditioner becomes less efficient, which makes it work harder to cool the room. If the coils are dirty enough, the unit will never be able to cool the room and so it won't turn off. 3) Thermistor If the air conditioner compressor runs all the time the thermistor might be defective. The thermistor is a sensor which detects the room air temperature. It is connected to the control board. If the thermistor is defective it will not have continuity when it should. If this happens the compressor runs all the time. 4) Main Control Board If the air conditioner compressor runs all the time the main control board might be defective. The main control board provides the voltage to the fan motor and compressor. These boards are often misdiagnosed. Check all other components to be certain this is the cause of the problem. Hope this will help you. Thank you.
