Question About Husqvarna Sewing Machine None

Broke a needle, changed it, re-threaded the bobbin and the top, but the machine won't run. Push the foot pedal and I get a ! sign on the screen, which the manual says clean the thread from the bobbin. I can turn the machine manually, but the ! sign comes up again, even though there is no apparent obstruction.
