Bobbin spindle stuck in gearshift dial and needle will not move

0 The hand wheel will move the needle. I was trying to thread a bobbin when I couldn't and started fighting withe the knob I think I pulled out the gearshift knob over the spindle the bobbin goes on. I cannot get the pin out nor the knob in and the foot pedal will not move the needle. Any suggestions or am I stitching by hand for a while. This is an old machine and probably not well maintained, rarely used too.
