What are the 8 programs about? Are they for different times during the day or four set of different programs that can be preset for different users?

0 I use the 44110, and the 4 programs allow me to set the thermostat to heat/cool automatically at different levels at different periods during a 24-hr cycle. My heat or AC cranks up an hour before I get up, dials down after I leave for work, cranks up again before I get home, and dials down after I go to bed. I can make adjustments manually during any period of the 24-hr. cycle, and when that period comes to an end, the cycle resumes. Hope this helps to answer the questions.
