I use my machine without the suggested cleanser, having had great sucess in the past (and now) with a combination of liquid Oxi-clean (about a half cup)& a liquid product called "Awesome" (yellow &sold at Dollar Tree/Dollar General. "Awesome" is by far the best I've found. It will clean anything, anytime. Mixing instr. on back. I use a white vinegar/hot water solution tp rinse to rid residual soap. pretreat bad spots with fels naptha.
