how do you clean under the hood on a Hoover Steam ...

how do you clean under the hood on a Hoover Steam Vac LS3000? Manual does not show how to clean. There is a lot of dirt & etc. that I can't get in to clean. It is where the hood sucks up the dirt and you can see it thru the clear hood and gets stuck there.
