0 I recently purchased this model and thought I got a dud because I too had a suction problem. However after studying how it is built I realized the plastic flap in the front of the recovery tank was not seated properly. (The flap where the utility hose would go if you connected that instead) Once I corrected this the machine worked beautifully. Hope this helps.
