There is a difference between the indicated temperature (confirmed by independent thermometer) and the thermostat setting. For example, I set it at 80, and the room warms up to 68. There's got to be a way to adjust the tilt of the vial containing the mercury drop, but I just can't see it. Also, FWIW, the outside of the thermostat is marked Amana, the inside marked Honeywell.
