The furnace kicks in and runs through a heating cycle. It shuts down, and then about 3 seconds later it starts up again and runs for a shorter period of time. Finally, it shuts down and waits until room tempature calls for more heat. In other words, the thermostat appears to be short cycling. On mechanical thermostats one can adjust the "heat antisipator" to solve this problem. The above model, however, is solid state and does not appear to have a mechanism to make this adjustment. The thermostat is brand new, and I won't know how it will function with my air conditioning unit until summer. Help. Thanks.
