Question About Honeywell Thermostat Electronic Programmable Thermostat

I can't seem to be able to programme the device. Ity gives setting numbers 1 through 6, but can't get beyond 2. After stage 2, stage 3 just has a display with dashes which i can't alter. Also the settings for stages 1 and 2 continue to flansh when still in programme mode.
