How to program Honeywell Thermostat...

I just moved into this house (2-3 yrs. old) and the previous owners left no manual on programing my Honeywell Thermostat. Haven't yet figured how to program it correctly and have no clue what model it is. When do I use the "hold, run and set" feature? Any clarity on this would be helpful...
