Honeywell TH6110D thermostat. I set the cool temp ...

Honeywell TH6110D thermostat. I set the cool temp at 78 and put on HOLD. When inside temp is only 76 it still running automatically for about 10 minutes or more. May be the program problem ?I already put HOLD. I don't need the program. How can I skip the program stuff, or erase the program ?
