Question About Honeywell Thermostat 8000
heat pump and gas furnace running at same time...

I had a new duel fuel system installed this summer and now when the heat comes on the heat pump starts and in about 2 minutes the gas furnace starts. The heat pump remains running and it sounds like the compressor is struggling under pressure or something. Can there be an adjustment to the honeywell thermostat? Please help...
