THe fan turned itself off when I tried to switch the airflow setting. It won't turn on no matter what button I press. I tried different wall receptacles. Nothing

5 The fan motor is burned out and the motor or the entire unit must be replaced.. I am an Electrical Engineer and the same thing happen to me. I took it aprat to find the problem and was amazed to find they used a shorting-type switch for the direction control. This switch shorts out the motor when flipping the direction. The manual says not to move the switch if the fan is running. Bad Design. Period. The Holmes brand models do not have this problem.
