dropped the air filter on the floor while cleaning it on the bench. Will it work with the switch OFF?...

dropped the air filter on edge while cleaning.Now it will stop rge buzz sound.Also can the filter wwork while the switch is turned OFF? Thank U Mike GARAPOLO
