I purchased a portable utility pump model 65836 and it is not working. I followed the instructions and my question is; the manual states it may take a few minutes for the pump to prime. How many minutes is a few minutes. I checked and everything appears to be working except no water is being drawn into the inlet side. Perhaps I am not giving the pump enough time to prime. I don't want to run it long as running the pump dry can cause internal problems as stated in the manual. Any advice is appreciated.
