0 Fan remote does not control the fan. Battery replaced in remote, is the problem the receiver and if so, where is the receiver?

0 Motion switch is on the side of the fan itself. Trouble I'm having Is the remote is not communicating with the fan. Anyone know where the "brain" is on the fan? Remote set 1,2,3 up and 4 down. Can't find the number key on the fan.
