My tow year old window AC began spitting out ice. ...

My tow year old window AC began spitting out ice. The filter was quite dirty, and daughter nhad it set on highest cool setting. Could this be problem, or does it need to be serviced? I cannot find the manuel, and could not find a model # anywhere on the product.
