Board broken when fireplace bought from Canadian Tire Store...

Bought fireplace from Canadian Tire Store opened the box and found that wood was broken and cracked phoned Store for help they sajd we could return it but do not have one for exchange can we get parts and how do go about that. please let us know before we return it was bought Mar 01 2011
