what would cause a Goodman Ar 36-1 to make a clicking noise while the furnace is running?

5 Hello, the number one item would be the electric element in air handler cycling off and on. This is cause by restricted air, filter, ac coil, etc...sometime even just the duct work is too small. The element gets hot, but exceeds the temp set by manufacturer and snaps off. The air keeps blowing and cools the strips, strips kick back on...kick back off etc. The sound is that of a relay clicking about every 4-5 minutes. The fix = make sure all registers open. filter clean, ac coil clean. Turning registers off to unused rooms can also cause this
