how do you erase the current remote code and repro...

how do you erase the current remote code and reprogram 2 remotes for Genie H4000A Garage door opener?? The tenant bought a new upgraded remote with a reprogram button inside the remote; when he reprogram the new one, then the old one doesnot work. Need both to work. There is only 1 skinny black button on the box.
