Question About Genie Garage Door Opener genie pro 82 1/3 HP
Door will not Open, but will close...

My opener will close the door, but will not open it. I can hear a clicking sound when I try to open it. After I try to open it when the door is half open, and I push the opener button again the door will close. It will also close when it is fully open.

0 Did you figure out your problem? I have the same thing. The door drives down until it hits the black switch. If I unlatch the door and manually pull it up and reengage the latch it still drives down. If I unlatch the door and hit teh button and it drives for a while until it stops it still wantes to drive closed afterwards.

0 Never did figure it out. While trying to fix it I broke the plastic down stop switch. Ended up getting a new Lift Master door opener. Been very happy with it!
