We have subject water softener. The shaft on the ROTOR (p/n WS26X10002) broke and I replaced it. I believe it broke because the ROTOR did not turn freely. I can turn the new one using both hands, is that acceptable? I have an owner's manual for this. On page 8 it discusses the SERVICE (S), FILL (F), BRINING (?), BRINE RINSE (BR), BACK WASH (BW), and FAST RINSE (R) operation. The dial on top of the drive gear has each of these letters except for BRINING. The brine tank continues to fill, it never seems to do the brining operation or remove brine from the tank. Can you help me to understand this? Is it working properly?
