Question About GE Smoke Alarm 8201-401C
what year was this made?...

We just took this model down to put up new smoke detectors and was wondering when this was made because it looks very old. It says it contains radioactive material---americium 241 and 2 microcuries. and takes a 9V battery.

0 The GE Home Sentry smoke alarms started with the square models in the early 70's. Then they changed to the rectangular version like yours in the late 70's.
