I do not see a light on the smoke alarm so figure that it is not working. I took it off the wall to install a new battery but do not see a place where a battery can be installed. Where would that be... or if it is hardwired and the light does not come on do I need to replace the unit?

0 I don't have a manual, but I have that same alarm and it IS hardwired, but there is no battery backup in this model. The power indicator light on this alarm is actually quite dim, so try looking at it at night to see if you see a red glow.
