the check filter light comes on and it isn't working well. the filter doesn't look dirty so unsure what it could be

0 Good Afternoon vdenise – The air filter is recommended to be checked at least once a month to maintain the unit clean. I understand you stated that the filter is not dirty; however trapped particles that you can’t see in the filter can build up and cause an accumulation of frost on the cooling coils. You may locate the filter by pushing the vent handle to the Vent Closed position (where applicable), open the front panel, grasps the filter by the center and pull up and out. The filter can be clean by using liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to dry and/or with an extension of a vacuum cleaner.
