Electronic panel is inoperable. Unit runs with 0.5 in the display. I tried resetting it, to no avail.

Based on what you mentioned, it seems like the air conditioner could be experiencing a communication issue with the control board or a potential wiring failure. Try resetting the air conditioner. This can be done by pressing the RESET button located on the plug. If the issue persists and if your appliance is still in warranty, you may want to check with the manufacturer to determine any warranty coverage, or if there are any professionals in your area who will not only be able to ensure this is the appropriate fix, but may actually save you some cost if is something simpler to repair.
