Question About Friedrich Air Conditioner 115 Volts UE08

My air conditioner won't turn on with the remote (the a/c is 20 feet in the air, on a large/tall wall in a loft apartment). The test and reset buttons on the unit plug are not responsive. How can I turn it on. There is not wall switch. It can be turned on by remote only. I know the batteries in the remote are fresh.
